Bent-Over Dumbbell Rows
Prime movers: Lats, biceps, shoulders.
Starting Position: Standing with your knees slightly bent, feet a couple of inches apart, and bending at the waist to form an approximate ninety-degree angle, hang your arms to the sides and hold two dumbbells with your palms facing each other. Keep your back straight and your head tilted back.
Lift:
a. Keeping your body stationary and bending at the elbows, pull the dumbbells up the sides of your body as high as you can, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
b. Let the dumbbells come to a brief, complete stop before slowly and controllably guiding them back up to their original starting position, the same way you pulled them up.
The photos above and the back exercise were taken from books in Rob Price’s “The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Sports” series which are available at www.sportsworkout.com and bookstores nationwide.
